So everyone make good passwords for yourselves, we need to make this forum secure.

Can somebody elaborate on "systematic manner" for those of us tech-laymen?

If the forum was hacked, they may also have access to the db, no? If they can read certain private messages and such.....Perhaps it would be prudent to simply reset everyones passwords and mail it to the email address they registered with? Or via IGM perhaps.
There's no way everyone will log in soon enough to effectively ensure all passwords are reset and secure....

We can date the screen grabs by looking at our post numbers, if that helps.
I had 425 post between Nov 20, 2007, 4:17am and Nov 21, 2007, 5:30 pm.

If we were hacked, we need everyone to immediately do the following:
1. Reset your in-game password. It is possible they found a users password in a forum PM. 2. Reset your forum password. It appears, if hacked, they obviously have at least one. 3. Reset your Corleth password. It is possible they found a users password in a forum PM.

Ok on the first two. How do I go about resetting my Corleth password?

It was me they hacked, if you look I am shown as being online and no exalt/smite option, you can't exalt or smite yourself. There are options to exalt/smite everyone else. Does this forum keep a history of IPs used to login with rather than just posting?
I can assure you one million percent I didn't leak this bullshit, so I have been hacked and feel violated - the only way they did it was by using the infor from the other forums (AMC probably) as I used the same pass there - should I complain about this on the IK forums, I mean, hacking peoples accounts isn't nice is it?

In fact it might make people so mad that they felt justified in employing shady tactics of their own...or even that they felt so angry that they launched a massive attack on the single player thought to be responsible for removing a young Skulkrin's innocence

Absolutely... The underhanded tactics used by certain parties to infiltrate our web forums is reprehensible. Is it any wonder that we felt so disgruntled that we launched some 'token' attacks from an account on their leader just to let them know that we knew what they were up to. It is just unfortunate that he took exception to and misinterpreted the message... Anyone with an ounce of tactical understanding would be able to see they were not 'real' attacks. Anyone who has seen a 'real' -MT- attack (and there are a few of them now!) would know what an attack is and would have seen the others for the 'message' that they were!

It was me from work, didn't recognise the IP as I rarely post on the forum from there.
