What is a Skirmish? An operation is considered a skirmish if there's an active tread in the forum on the matter, and when there are considerable members involved in the process.
What distinguishes a Skirmish from a Campaign? Skirmishes are short operations and usualy occur spontaneously, whilst Campaigns are pre-determined operations which usual involve pre-preparation on behalve of the whole alliance.
How many ribbons can one get? Skirmish awards are divided into series made up of 7 ribbons each. For now there is only one- the Zulu Series. As you are nominated, your ribbon will be 'upgradedĀ“till you reach the 7th rank of the series, which you get to keep. After which, if you are nominated for another skirmish award you will start to receive the second series, and so forth.
How are Skirmish awards atribuited? Skirmish awards are all nominated.
Who nominates the awards? The person who is subject of an unprovocked attack or subject of any hostility (usualy the member who asks for help ie: Fiscult in the Loki affair; Driez in the Bulbizar opperation), and members with High Ranks (Diplomat, Admin, Admiral) - preferably those who took part in the skirmish (either militarily or diplomaticly) have the power to nominate others for an award.
Final Observations. The Skirmish award is probably the most solidarity award available, as it depends on the person who asks for assistance to nominate who he thinks made an effort to help him. It is possible for people to get this ribbon even if they didnt post anything in the forum. Someone might support the effort by sending stonies or resourses, and not necessarily having that fact pulicised. But the receiver (usualy the one that asks for help) will remember that fact and wish to show his gratification by forwarding his name for a ribbon.
