Sorry I got cought up in my moan and didnt vote,
My moan was not intended as a 'NO', I do think this is a player that could add somthing to the group, and had he been #30 or #35 then no problem but hes potentially #36.....
So yes to his application in principal, but with reservations about the number of players we have.
could we put any new applications on hold until we decide how big were going to allow FoM to become?, or as mentioned before wheather we are going to form another alliance.
Unless Im the only one thinking this way, if so shout "shut up" and I will...:-)

Don't forget people, the Ruku account owner now controls Coruscation (I hate that name, I can't spell it...) so we can sort of cross out that account, also Driez and I are merging (three isles left) so in a week or so, he'll be no more, so our member count is closer to 33.

i think it would be a shame to miss out on getting a good player to join us just because we already have X amount of members, im against setting a limit for the number of members we have at any one time.

Perhaps we should set requirements. In this case, I would accept this player because he seems fit for this alliance, but other players like Life_is_green still need more time to develop.
Like Pose said, too many members may hinder our efficiency, but I think we can make exceptions for players like Mcgoogus.
But for now, I think we should hold all applications until we have figured this out. It is now obvious to me that people are not completely satisfied with what is going on here with all these applications, and if this is a democratic alliance, we should discuss this further before accepting more members.

The thing is, we already discussed admissions requirements, and we got nowhere at all. I like them, but there's no consensus on whether we should have them and what they should be.

lol Why is this so hard?
I say yes to Mcgoogus...but other people with 4LWS and stuff like that is just pathetic.
I dunno what we are going to do about this...I think I'll just stop voting and wait till the alliance gets to 50 members then I'll come back again and protest.

I thought this reply clinched it for me; If we decide to let him in; then I say yes. If we decide not to let more members in then my vote is mute anyway Referring to Pose's post above mine.... good point Perhaps thats why groups often create a figurehead (admin) to make the hard, but definitive, choices.

We seem to be have quite a few of these issues of late, with us not being able to come to some sort of definative decision and the thread/topic simply fizzling out ...to only be reopend weeks later or started again. while i would hate to lose our democratic descussions, I do think we need to set some sort of timeframe for how long they are expected to last? maybe we could appoint 3 'decision makers' 1 from each alliance that would ulimatly make a final choice on any issues that arent resolved (a or at the least seen to be progressing toward a resolution) I suggest that after say 10 days of an issue being highlited, everyone with an oppinion should have voiced it, if we have no clear consencus after this it should be passed over to our decision makers to weed out the wheat from the chaff and give us a new 'policy statment' if thats required. Lost ideas/oppinions We have dropped the ball on a number of issues that at the time seemed quite hot, because those of us that do contribute to the forums had our says and still could reach no final resolution. below are a list (off the top of my head) that I cant say that I could profess that I know what were doing on...(maby jus me lol)? to be looked at 1) our stance on merging accounts 2) our defenition of inactive 3) mightymorphin Power alli 4) number of members to admit 5) admission requirements 6) feeder alliances *throws it open for descussion over the next epoch*

Have to agree with Poses last post.
Democracy only goes so far, when it comes to crunch we need someone who can make the final decision and be accountable to it. For e.g. making a bad decision but and accepting that but carrying on with it.
Can't have someone easily demoralised.
In terms of the application, I he looks a good addition if we come to the decision to accept more members, if not then so be it.

I vote no. Personally, I think it's stupid to have a select group of people control everything we do. It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others. No, stupid idea.

Democracy is all well and good, but only when the people in power put the collectives wishes into action.

I think thats exactly the point POSE is making, we don't have any leaders, so we vote for our options and then no-one makes a final decision or to put the collective wishes into action as it were
