New Applicants Questionnaire

We need to come up with a better way of vetting potential members, a questionairre has been suggested.

Here is jerry-rigged questionnaire used on IKUK;

1. Why do you want to join us?
2. Why do you want to leave your current alliance (if applicable)?
3. What will you bring to our alliance?
4.To whom did you apply before us (if applicable)?
5. How active are you?

And Tom:

Could you give me an average fleet count of your isles please?

2) Diet Coke or Pepsi Max?

3) Israel or Lebanon?

4) Do you think Britain should get the euro?

5) Nationality?

6) Age?

7) Where do you live? (Don't have to be specific)

8) Have you read all the Harry Potter books?

9) What is your favourite season?

10) Are you a vegetarian?

i'd like to suggest:
1) Do you or have you played inselkampf on another server
2) Under what name ?
3) Why would you like to join FoM
4) Are you currently involved in any conflict or disagreements with other players?
5) How active are you ?

I like your first question but am still a bit dubious about it, for example look at AeroS. He's a new player but willing to learn and exhibits good qualities, I would normally hold no experience against someone but I know this shouldn't be the case. Having said this though it is a good way to identify players from IKUK, like Nemesis or even players who have not chosen the same player name yet have experience, myself as an example.

OK, I’ve merged the questions we already have and refined them a little, adding some new ones. I wouldn’t worry about the actual questions themselves, I’m not all that bothered about the answers that a potential recruit gives as they can lie anyway, but I’m more interested in their style of answers, ie do they give 1 word (or 1 letter) replies or are they willing to put in a bit of effort.

For example if you ask “How active are you” and they reply 3 days later saying they’re very active, I would question the validity of their answer.

1. Why do you want to join us, and if applicable why do you want to leave your current alliance?
2. Are you involved in any wars or disagreements, either currently or in the recent past?
3. What special qualities will you bring to our alliance?
4. Can you tell us approximately what your fleet is comprised of?
5. How active are you?
6. How much experience do you have of playing Inselkampf?
7. What were your best and worst moments in the world of Inselkampf?
8. What is you opinion of multis and scripters?
9. Regarding pacts and peace treaties, what do you understand by those terms?
10. If it comes down to war, how involved would you be?
11. Finally (thank god I hear you cry) please note anything which you feel might support your application to FoM

4. How would you describe yourself as a player, What are your traits, both in good and bad?

7. What were your best and worst moments in the world of Inselkampf?
8. What is you opinion of multis and scripters?
9. Regarding pacts and peace treaties, what do you understand by those terms?
10. Finally (thank god I hear you cry) please note anything which you feel might support your application to FoM

Its not so much if the questions are good or bad, but how the person reacts to them.

Still, I changed some that sounded too irritating/obvious.

Well, we have had previous trouble with males pretending to be females. Even amongst ourselves, I might add.
