If DIGG are starting to play the game like that and it becomes standard DIGG procedure to use cats in such disputes, then Morkin will look to distance themselves from DIGG.
Assuming the above is true of course.
We played on .co.uk and were a small alliance so we know how much it can suck when big alliances don't "play fair".

Judging from previous disputes between DIGG and E|S, I suppose that the H|F player is entitled to both isle and compensation, am I right?
But as Clausewitz has pointed out in another thread, the DIGG leadership may be gunning for H|F anyways, and choose to escalate this to get the war they want going. Which leaves us with a pact with DIGG and peace treaty with H|F (who on the whole behaved well during most of the E|S War).
As I said in the other thread, it's the sidelines for us, most likely, and if we are aksed to get involved we should insisting on negotiating a peace for the two parties.

Yes. If the conflict is based on unjust actions, I don't see any obligation for us to aid them. I must say that I'm impressed with H|F's conduct. Probably a bit unfortunate that they chose the English version of E|S for a name, but they've since changed that. However, I guess we'll refer to them as H|F for a while longer

In that case Ryan has an interesting challenge trying to determine what to tell pain. Would telling pain that we have no intentions of fighting for DIGG over this make pain challenge DIGG on this issue? Would we want him to, if that was the case.
In short, can we by telling pain one thing or another manipulate events to create a shooting war between DIGG and H|F? And more importantly, do we want to?
More inputs on this issue would be appriciated, this could be important.

This might be a good opportunity to show Digg that we won't let them get away with rogue behaviour, and to emphasise to the rest of IK that we're not Digg's poodle, but that we're standing for decent behaviour whoever the opposition.
We could simply inform both H|F and Digg in a joint message of what our opinion is, and that we will act accordingly.
As for a fight: not sure. With new leadership in Digg it might be a 'show 'em that we can do what the old guard did' and could easily escalate. Or sheer numbers could win and kill of H|F. Or guys like TRUTH could join in, and then Digg will be on the receiving end of multiple alliance fights.
Whatever happens, we should stay out of it.

Only if we think it'll be for the good of the server (meaning HF will not lose) I'm not sure we should throw any (free) food to the the general direction of the juggernaut called Digg.

Considering the first paragraph, shouldn't we inform everyone, not just HF and Digg. Otherwise, i like the idea.

OK, joint message and a 'press release' on the IK forum.
Shall I go and draft one?

Or guys like TRUTH could join in, and then Digg will be on the receiving end of multiple alliance fights. Pain has been getting hit with significant multi attacks lately, and has reason to believe Truth is behind it. I have a feeling there's something going on here that I don't want to know about. Ignorance is bliss.

I think we have to differ between Truth the player and [Truth] the alliance led by Padfoot.
Skulks talks about the alliance, while Ryan has the player suspected for a multi.

Yes, I meant the alliance, who aims to take on Digg long term. I assume there must be other alliances around who want to have a go at them, but luckily (for Digg) they're not at all organised.

Mads nailed it. Mixed up [Truth] and Truth. Arminius - I've always toyed with fantasies about the potential to do what Aspen failed so miserably at Alas, merely fantasies - the sort of which are evoked whenever a considerable challenge is presented. Over at DIGG, the senior leaders frequently had "What would it take to defeat us?" discussions, simply to preempt such threats.

(I am easily least knowledgeable player able to read this, but here is my 2 cents...)
Though it has never been discussed properly, the mechanics of war with Digg have clearly crossed peoples minds. The .co.uk David vs. Goliath heroism was before my time, but I suspect a straight fight with resource strength of Digg would be beyond even considerable acumen of our top guys.
Aspen once described us as the military power on the server; I think he got it exactly wrong as only he can. If anything we're the diplomatic power on the server.
The way I see it, we're only going to come up against Digg if unsavoury types start to gain control of the alliance; in this case disillusioned Diggers may be looking for a new home. Coupled with our generally good rep with other alliances, I think we could hypothetically build a coalition that would hold up against Digg.
It would still be a long shot, I dare say.
Thoughts?
