Twister was in FoM yesterday and suddenly when all this appears on the forums he's in Corleth ? Why was the account left in FoM for so long ? and who's got it now ?

My final comment: I dug up the old version of my database and took a look at Tom's score development. My theory is that since a multi will have more resources available, these resources that are likely to show themselves in terms of faster score development(*). With that in mind, Tom's score did not show any undue growth. Relative to score, his growth was actually slower than a few players in [FoM] (including me ). (*) A multi could obviously be incompetent, and not get anything out of the extra resources, or spend them all on military buildup which wouldn't be obvious in score.

Someone in Corleth has it now. Dont know who. I was told that Henning, Renata and Marc's colleague. They are players in [Corleth] for the mis-informed. All these questions and things, I feel like I am in a courthouse trying to prove my innocence! Questions Questions Questions! If you still think that I have many multi accounts, because for some reason two identical Ip's appeared on a forum, then clearly you never took one word of what I have written seriously. You still suspect me though Terry, I can sense it. And I am dissapointed. So let me pendatically answer all your questions one by one like they do on most forums.... This message on the forum was written by myself. Why would I flee my supposedly own "multi" account, after I brought up the issue? Its in someone elses hands. Because I didnt know what to do with it. Skulkrinbait was aware I was running the account for about a month, and after a bit of chat I told him it was too far away for me to take the isles, and whether he thought anyone else would like the isles. In the end I gave the account to Ashimar, who said he could find a friend in need of an account. I've answered this question already in this thread, and aswell as almost five times in messages to and from folks. Twister is in the hands of Henning, Renata and Marc's colleague. Ask them for specifics, thats all I was told. I'm sorry if I appear short, but maybe thats because I'm not being listened to or trusted by my own admins, even though I'm trying my best to remain patient and helpful with their inquests. (Sorry to sound like a grump but it is how I feel...) Now. Can someone please finnally accept my explanation as being valid, so people can get round to apologising to me, for wasting so much time and energy.... *edit* - Just wanted to thank n00bs for his level headed thinking. And general helping out with the technical side...

Too technical for me to follow really, but I've formed a good impression of TTBS and so I'm happy to accept his word. I know that's a long way from "hard evidence", but it's just the way I feel

Well, my hope is that we can all get to know one another here that we can take the stance of innocent until proven guilty, rather than the other way around. In the midst of that, however, it's important to keep an eye out for multi's, in any alliance. But unless the evidence is truly damning (and I think that there is enough mushy stuff here), there's no reason to go on a witch-hunt. It's explainable from a reasonable standpoint, and there isn't anything that really stands out as multi-behaviour. All that to say that I think his word is enough as well. But the decision isn't up to me either!

Just happy to be of assistance (edit: I think intchanter deserves some gratitude as well; which reminds me, is an intchanter someone who chants integers?). Though I am sill left with the question I had when I joined the alliance and started reading the forum: Who watches the watchmen? The only person who can tell if a player is a multi with any certainty is Sven, the best the rest of us can do is circumstantial evidence. I wouldn't take the accusations personally though. For all we really know, you could be Charles Manson, George W Bush or a 14 year old girl. For something to be personal, it really requires that people know you well enough that they should know better.

I am also glad to help, and I tend to do okay on the technical stuff. To answer your question, n00bs, yes. My favorite integers to chant are the primes. And what's this "or" stuff. You mean Tom isn't all three?

This was never meant to be a witch hunt, despite how it looks I like tom, he was my admin for a long time on the .uk server and the main reason i joined FoM when i did. Tom the questions about twister werent actually aimed at you, they were aimed at the morkin members because they have access to much more info than we do, and i dont think you moved twister to corleth because it would have had to be a corleth member that did it. but am i the only one to find the timing of it suspicious ? And to those of you that know about isp addresses and the technical stuff, in short answers with as little technical information as possible, what are the chances of three different people, on different computers using the same isp address ? I've read lot about ways you can have two or three isp's for the same computer but no-one has said how three computers ended up with the same one.

I've read lot about ways you can have two or three isp's for the same computer but no-one has said how three computers ended up with the same one. Based on the information provided, I'd say the chances are quite good that there's nothing multi indicated in the provided evidence. They use the same ISP, and that ISP uses a trick to save bandwidth that makes a potentially huge number of users appear to be from the same IP.

In that case i'd like to apologise to Tom, I assumed the evidence was damning when i should have checked it out further.

That's quite cool really. I'm on NTL:Telewest/Virgin Media (this IP isn't because I'm at home) so it would be interesting to see the difference between mine and Tom's.
@ intchanter and n00bs - Can you please provide references for all that technical rubbish? More specifically the IPv4 stuff. I've got a 3000 words essay to do on the differences and reasons for changing from IPv4 to IPv6. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I learned the basics over a decade ago and have picked up bits and pieces as I went along after that. For instance, I don't have any experience with IPv6, so my knowledge there is rather sketchy. I'd recommend using wikipedia as a jumping ground: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipv6That should be enough to familiarize yourself with the subject, and if you need other references, the links out are generally quite good. If you have questions beyond that, PM me here or in-game, and I'll see what I can do for you.
