I think Message similiar to the original would enhance the experience.
"Bloody Sword of Battle brings death in the domain of Kor and of Shadows"
Knowing that wouldnt hurt gamebalance, but knowing big battles going on elsewhere would make me piss in my pans... if you know what i mean... i guess you dont but what im trying to say is that it would be exiting!

The problem with that is that I don't hold domain info, so I can only comment on specific locations:
"The bloody hand of battle brings death to the Keep of the Moon, the Tower of the Moon and the Forest of Shadows."
That would be too specific IMO, as you'd know what the enemy were up to.
I'd love a Bloody Hand of Battle screen, but I don't think that it's realistic, unless it shows only your battles.
Unless someone can think of a way around this?

Adding domain info is no big deal. Remember that i have them in mysql format (you should too i sent it to you)
Editing them to fit current map is bit more jobfull thing.
It can be done manually (no big deal since there are not much differences)
Then I have something (PG apps) that could do it quite easily
Or then wait till Igor releases next version of his toolset.

Man, this has GOT to be one of the best things lately. I used to stare at the magenta characters thinking about fey and foul and flames over the ice. And I mean stare ;D

That Screen was perhaps the most frightning thing on whole game, domains dropping one by one... AArgh Unstoppable hordes are pouring out of cauldron of evil!

There could be interesting applications of domains to the gameplay, as well. Controlling a whole domain - no enemies or neutrals present on its territory - could give benefits, like movement bonus, soldier gorowth, better seeking, etc.

Here it is, Jean-Yves. This is one thing we definitly need, if you have to quit your work and code 25 hours a day for half a year to make it work

Well, I like the idea to some extent at least.
I think all battles involving the player's lords or strongholds should reported, along with a random selection of other battles (not determined by size of encounter). This would make things interesting without really giving much more information about what is actually going on. I would be against significantly expanding the information given to players about the activities of their opponents.
The "Bloody Sword of Battle" is one of the major things missing from DDR IMHO.

As mentioned before, I do not have the domain info from LoM. Chris, do you have this available in the following format:
x,y,domain
eg: 2,3,"Gloom"
?

I think everybody agrees to have BSoB of at least all battles where the player has been involved, but what about information that goes any further?
I stand for "All battles that had many troops"

"The bloody sword of battle brings death in the domain of Muhaha, where squirrels dwell and 31412 men fell in battle"?

Odd, I thought that I had replied to this thread (maybe in another thread?)
Anyway, the BSOB is coded and ready for the next release.
