OK, let's begin...
General hints:
1. Always have few RE2 Genesis ships ready. This is imperative. More on this later.
2. If you don't want to lose any ships, station them on your home planet and put them on sale for unpayable amount of credits (99999 Cr per ship). Home planets cannot be colonized and ships on sale do not participate in combat. You can do that with ground troops as well. Items on sale are invisible to probes!
When enemy tries to colonize your planet and odds are against you, or you have no time to intercept:
1. Evacuate all ships and ground troops from the planet.
2. Do not use "go to", use "transfer ships to planet" to move your ships off-planet. Immediately after you launch, use "Recall" on this fleet. Fleet now cannot be intercepted, because it's "returning" to home!
4. Prepare a fleet with just one Genesis. Abandon the attacked planet (remember to evacuate beforehand!) and immediately order Genesis to "colonize" it. Planet will be safe for 120 hours!

Due to obvious bug, there is a way to avoid being intercepted completely!
When you want to invade a planet:
1. Send a fleet with transports to "invade". No support ships, just transports with ground troops.
2. After a tick or two, send another fleet with support ships to the same planet with order to "attack". Make sure this fleet arrives at the same time as the invasion fleet! Although it would be only natural for these fleets to be separated (because one travels faster then the other, they will meet in orbit!), they appear to be one fleet. But, since the system doesn't know which one to intercept, it does not intercept neither! One of the most moronic bugs I saw in a game!
This is what Gazza tried to pull on me. We can always turn him in for using bugs and exploits to play the game. Or we can us them against him. ;D

More moronic "rules":
1. You cannot intercept a fleet from the planet that is being attacked. You must intercept from another planet.

I'm seriously thinking of publishing all these (and all the other) findings, to make admins finally fix them.
As I'm already 99% off the game. I will very soon (maybe immediately) quit. The game has become simply unplayable - typical win-win (or lose-lose) situation - once you know all these tricks/exploits/rules.
What do you think, guys?

I agree. The bugs are too big, or at least the hole they create is too big to make the game playable. Too many stupid exploits that take away the caracter of the game.

At the risk of sounding like "sour grapes" - I'm pretty bored too. I'd far rather be fighting in the Forest of Dreams than the Galactic wastes ;D
Feel free to distribute my stuff as you see fit...
