Invading a planet is the option to use when you want to take over a currently inhabited planet. This is pretty obvious, but what isn't so obvious is that once the invasion is successful, all of the planets' extractors (and I guess research centres - Kahudrarg didn't have any), are automatically turned off. Therefore the invader needs to manually restart the extractors. I found this out after 2 hours of resorce inactivity from my newly acquired planet.

Also - the IK approach of "waves" wont work. If a planet is already targeted, you cannot target again - identical to colonising. You can "go to" the planet, but whether you can change the orders subsequently to "invade" is, as yet, untested. Timbus was far too effective in his invasion plans!

A newly invaded colony is protected for 48 hours.

I've found that a fleet that has been sent to a planet by the GOTO order cannot be issued an attack order against the planet it is orbiting.

I've found that a fleet that has been sent to a planet by the GOTO order cannot be issued an attack order against the planet it is orbiting. Well, that's that one sorted then. So one player can set "attack" orders and another can set "invade" orders no problem - which is what Timbus and I did. What we need to establish is whether two players can set "attack" orders simultaneously. If not, the wave policy won't work, but a single player could stage the attacks whilst the rest of us transfer resource/units to their home planet?

Tried to invade Marakith ( 13EF64194C8BB7F902ED643A1D2A60 ), but was not succesful. The battle went well but I did not conquer the place. I had set the invasion for 1 tick should it have been 2 ticks, or do we just conquer it when all pds are destroyed?

My score is over 60% his now. Going for plan B instead Just a future note: Al PDS were turned off, but still invasion force seems to target and destroy all PDS regardless of their state. Only after all infraestructure are destryed do you get to conquer a planet....it seems....

Actually - they are still there I think. There are 22 PDS facilities at Marakith (now Varangrand). BTW Many thanks Marios - I'll look after the planet.

I was wondering if it wouldnt be a sound strategy to destroy a newly invaded planet and abandon it if the owner doesnt want it, or if no one else in the alliance wishes to proclaim it. Too much Monkey business going around for my likes
