a fair set of questions
so far most of our members are a fairly peaceful lot that dont tend to go in for bullying the noobs much.
we are based around a strong core of about 9 friends who have all known each other and been playing games together for a while, although as you can see we have recruited some extra players too, most of whom have been valued additions to our alliance.
we have a couple of players that decided to quit and are giving their isles away first, once they are discharged we wont be accepting more players with less than about 4 isles.
as an alliance we have not bothered with playing for score for the most part, we havent built statues but rather have concentrated on colonies and fleets.
as i said we are generally peaceful but our players have previously proven themselves willing to pitch in to fight off aggressors.
as for our ages they range from between late teens to mid forties with most of our players in their twenties, one of our stricter requirements is that recruits be relatively sensible and mature and able to communicate clearly in english
i hope that answers all your questions about us, feel free for ask for further details.

Why are you attacking Iserath if I may ask ?
As far as yours unholy understood things there is a peacetreaty in effect which -as it would appear- you are breaking. This begs the question what motivation you have for that.

well parwez is pretty strong so wud b pretty good bk up, but neway, bk 2 the situation at hand, i wont make ne excuses 4 tht attack, i totally 4got about it, i sent it from ocean 1 and took a few days, i dnt even want the isle, so im happy 4 him 2 take it bk, il even send him resources 2 help build it up

I do not know those two gentlemen, but it would appear Morkin (or Iserath for that matter) has final jurisdiction here.
But you may want to consider my attacks include 400+ cats at once, so if -say- Parwez tells me that it's okay to launch at one of your colonies, should I do that than as well without doublechecking ?
The long and short of it, we want that isle back in our fold and you're gonna facilitate that by pulling back and arranging some form of compensation to help Iserath building a colonyship. That is, before he has burnt the structures down to the ground.

oh yes i forgot about nationalities, we are also multinational mostly european.
i can understand your situation, in this game i have found it is quite important to have a strong trustworthy and loyal core to your alliance otherwise it will just fall apart after the first sign of major threat as so many have already.
however your alliance is at the moment not strong enough to defend itself against a strong attacker but has enough colonies in it to make it an attractive target for the big boys out there.
i do have some advice although it may take another message to fit it all in
if players do decide to quit make sure that any of them that have colonies help the rest of you take them before they quit. by this i mean stick around an d keep building up their isles and fleets until you can take them and when you do take them they should launch their fleets elsewhere on a harmless mission so that you can take the isles without haveing to waste fleet taking out defences, then when the fleets return to the isles they wil belong to whoever took the isle.
i would also suggest that you try to spread the bounty to get as many players that are remaining upto 5 or more isles as you can, it is around that number of isles that you become able to expand effectively and/or start to get some reasonable defences.
do this regardless of any other decisions you come to.

from what you tell me i dont think feeders is the best way to go for you, the point of a feeder alliance is a buffer zone between the main alliance and new recruits, eventually you will have to feed decent players upto the main alliance and thus your group of friends will end up split up anyway. also you may have to relax your own recruitment standards with respect to maturity etc as a feeder for a potentialy less mature alliance.
if you decide to stick it out and remain as an independant alliance then i suggest that you all try to cultivate pacts and treaties with more powerful people, both as individuals and as an alliance.
it will be hard to get treaties and pacts with top 20 alliances since most dont accept them with small alliances, we ourselves have a policy against allying with low ranking alliances in general. those that will treaty with you have so many treaties and pacts that the pacts are meaningless anyway.
however there are lots of players that will offer protection and personal pacts to smaller players they meet and like, some will even offer protection to your entire alliance, this is a good means to dissuade the hunters from bothering you.

if you decide not to remain as an alliance then your oportunities to remain together will be limited, however this doesnt mean that you cant keep in contact and continue to help each other out, that is what personal pacts are for.
i will have to check with the rest of my alliance first but i think we would be willing to take a number of your players into HOD. however as i stated we do have requirements and we would probably only be willing to take those with 4 or more isles and there will be a maximum we can take of about 9 or 10.

If you want the pact back up its fine with me.
If a friend wants helping it's no problem

Hi Chris,
Morkin is still alive and kicking, I leave it up to you ethjer you want the pact re-instated or wether the peacetreaty is sufficient for you.
I must say we may want to call on our pacts in the future more than in the recent past.

having had a closer look at your alliance these are the players i think we would be willing to take:
soulcatcher
soiram
natmus
majordefect
guinevere
davidjwest
ashimar
arminius
this is of course assuming that these players are all active.
i would guess that this group largely constitutes your core group of friends considering they are largely around the same level of developement. are there any i missed?

Hallo Ratem,
I suppose congrats are in order for taking Colt357's nice high scoring islands to the cleaners. When we (Morkin) were battling E~L I considered levelling those exact three isles of Colt as I too thought isles like that would hve no defensde whatsoever. He was saved at that time by a rather polite mail after I spied on him as opposed to the more banal replies of JayRosie, so I turned on the latter instead. But you having taking Colt357's isles certainly proves my point: no defenses, just points.
His polite emails however seem to have degraded a bit from the looks of it ;~)

yes well a big war would tend to Chiavata! players over, well done on your victory sounds like you guys had fun
i hadnt realised you had been through the mauler on quite that scale.
it all really depends on how many of you decide they are no longer interested in the game and which players they are.

Okay, in that case we want the pact back up. We got the other ones reinstated as well after E~L surrendered.

Ok, i'll send stonethrowers to Perun
Ashimar wrote:

That is mlst generous of you Chruis and in fact I know two people who like to play on and are right now in dire straits defending their place while rebuilding it. First of all Perun could use troops to keep his last colony (he had 4 originally) from being taken over (perhaps lending some hundreds of stoners until he has build enough spears is also an idea ?) and secondly Freiegeister is in need of stoners, but has only his main left and is rather far away.
But those two really could use some help, but if it's not possible no problem.

thanks for the explanation, sounds like you guys had quite a battle.
essentially what you seem to be saying is that some of you are interested in joining HOD at some point but you need some time to settle things down and discover who if anyone will want to come with you so you have time to make the transition without feeling like you are letting anyone down or leaving them in the lurch.
quite understandable and admirable
HOD isnt in a mad rush to fill its membership, we would rather take our time and be sure we get reliable active players that will stand by the alliance in return for it standing them.
so i would propose that for now we make a peace treaty between HOD and Morkin and you and i might want a personal pact. then we leave it a little while and see how things go in your alliance.
then in a while we can see what the situation is and decide whether you want to stick as Morkin or whether some of you want to join HOD or if you decide to do something else entirely.
how does this seem to you? let me know if i have missed the mark completely;)
