I added all distances i could... At what speed did you use to calculate the time need to reach a target?

Tried the new app entering coords of my two isles, but the result was not correct. The time required for 5kt ships to reach Dawn from Shimeril is 2hrs and 45mins, but the app indicated 3hrs and 3mins. Some tweeking required probably... Yeah I said it wasn't quite working right! ;D It's to do with the odd ways coordinates are used in the game, I suppose you have had similar troubles Robert, would be interested to know how you solved it.

I solved it like this. First i coded a function to calculate a real coordinate for any given INSEL-coord-system coordinate. After that calculating distanses is trivial.

I solved it like this. First i coded a function to calculate a real coordinate for any given INSEL-coord-system coordinate. After that calculating distanses is trivial. I dont know what this is or what it does, or is it finished, but it's named "coords.php" under my inselkampf folder. <? require("database.php"); ?>
<?php
for ($se = 1; $se <= 100; $se++) { for ($sq = 1; $sq <= 100; $sq++) { $x = (($se-1)%10)*10; $x = $x + ($sq-1)%10 +1;
$y = floor(($se-1)/10)*10; $y = $y + floor(($sq-1)/10) + 1;
$map_data[$se][$sq]['Coords']="$x/$y"; $map_data_xy[$x][$y]['Coords']="$se/$sq";
#echo "$se - $sq = $x - $y<BR>"; } }
echo "<TABLE border=\"1\">";
for ($y = 1; $y <= 100; $y++) { echo "<TR>"; for ($x = 1; $x <= 100; $x++) { echo "<TD>".$map_data_xy[$x][$y]['Coords']."</TD>";
#echo "$se - $sq = $x - $y<BR>"; } echo "<TR>"; } echo "</TABLE>";
?>

Nothing to do with me, I wouldn't use capitals for HTML tags for starters. (Not saying it's 'wrong' to do that but not my style.)
Can you post or send me the code you've got Robert so I can try to understand it? From what you're saying I understand but I'd like to look.
Thanks.

That is my code. What it does...
It takes IK coords from database, and sorts them to an array organized with x and y.
Original coords: $map_data[$se][$sq]['Coords']="$x/$y";
Organized by regular coordinates system: $map_data_xy[$x][$y]['Coords']="$se/$sq";
Where SE = Sector (eg. Ocean) SQ = Square (eg. Group of Isles)
This allows me to draw IK coords to a HTML table, but it's a very short way to edit this to a distance calculator.

I updated the table quite a bit.
Lets use islenames from now on as people start getting more and more isles.

I've sent various loads off, but they need around 40 hrs to reach you. And I lost most of my merchant fleet...
