I'm having a strange effect in this game. My turn one was described as day 2, and my turn 2 was shown as day 3. The game listing says we are on day 3, yet I have only had two turns despite playing my turn for the day.
Have I missed a turn at the start, or is this some sort of bug?
...and if I have missed a turn... how? ?!?

It is how new randomisation of starting order works. It simply passes some players turns so that they start on day 2.

The method you are suggesting means Ringthane would have had two turns before I even got to start. That's hardly fair, and if that's the case I would rather we went back to the old non-random method. Early turns are too crucial to miss out on. J-Y?

No, no. Say, there are 3 players, and the 2nd is randomly chosen to go first. Only the first player would then be moved to day 2 so that he would play 3rd.
If the first was chosen, nothing would change, and if the 3rd was chosen, both player 1's and 2's day one would be passed.

I also think that this mechanism will need explaining in detail for the 1.0 release, because it will cause a great deal of confusion when people start on day 2 without any explanation. How about a one-off paragraph on the "announcements" page before the first turn pointing out that the player is starting on day 2?

Sorry folks, started in my least favourite place as the last half-dozen or so games I've started there were over as a contest before turn 5. Sure enough, contact on turn 3 for me, with the inevitable consequence that I'd be able to recruit about 5 armies at most. I've decided that it just isn't worth the effort, and so I've resigned.

Blimey Ringy, she was only doing some sight-seeing. No need to clobber her over the head. Alas poor Zerin And poor old Whispers. What did he do to you? He never even got the chance to dance the spears with anyone. Ithrorn has replied by deciding to teach the targlet-king a small lesson in good manners. Matija - I know that you may still be smarting over that little, err, misunderstanding in the forest of Thrall, but just be careful. The Target is doing rather well up north. How about we leave each other alone for a little while?
