I know how you guys love debating about the history and lore of Midnight, so I thought I'd invite similar speculation about the ML world.
Was there some aspect of history or geography in Midmark that intrigued/inspired/bewildered you?
Are there any races you'd love to see featured?
Who was your favourite lord?

I suppose that because I perceived this to be a LOM variant, I almost expected to understand the geography. But of course I wandered around in cricles a lot, got killed a lot, and enjoyed it a lot I really like the feature in ML whereby most things have a narrative, which adds to the depth of the virtual world, and gives the scenario author a chance to plant clues pretty much anywhere they like. 32,000 players might be just too many, except maybe for Ringthane! ;D

I could never, ever recruit the Chief Dwarf, even with the other Dwarf. Which I found a bit perplexing. But he'd usually had a bit of a disagreement with one of the elves by then, so that might be why. I loved the subplot, though I never got close to unravelling it, as I was to busy trying to kick Blackwake's butt! All in all I think it will benefit hugely from a more complex scenario and a few extra characters, though I agree 32,000 might be a few too many.

Heh. Glad to see it get plaudits. I thought it was one of the more innovative bits- although it does entail a lot of extra work for the scenario writer. One thing I always enjoyed about LOM was the sense of depth in the world. Once you've noticed some interesting piece of design (like Korinel in his little village) you start to look for other little interesting things and try and work out why they are. I'm sure sometimes we read too much into the placement here and there. I wanted to get the same feel for ML, and rewards those who read the history text. I quite deliberately wrote the Midmark history items to drop hints for the player- in particular about the basic geography.

You just need to get the right commander over to him- someone who might impress with his courage if not his maturity. The AI that sometimes sends Kothlon to invade the Fey territory was a whim inclusion- but I think it gives more depth and unpredictability to the scenario.
Ever tried winning when both Skyknell and Kothlon have got themselves killed before you can get to them?
Oh, and shhh! Don't say the E word. Might attract lawyers...
