While MULE and M/MU are much the same thing, I'm hoping that the MULE will be different enough in the way the Marshall Lords is different from the Midnight Engine or War of the Solstice.
At the same time a lot of the ideas I plan to implement could also be incorporated into M/MU in the future.

The cross-pollination of ideas between the various LoM variants has been a good thing. I look forward to half-inching taking inspiration from your ideas

I have been known to be afflicted by megalomania from time to time, so, why don't you dudes just join projects and set up a huge, everpresent Midnight Portal?

We have discussed joining forces, but the main issue is time constraints.
However, since MULE will be an engine and not a GUI, there will be scope if future for me to take the MU gfx engine, modify it and bolt that onto MULE.

Another constraint is server capacity as at this stage none of us seem likely to be able to host the whole thing in one place once people start playing and saving games. Wouldn't mind bedding down the XML format for a game snapshot as both projects will use it.

As you pretty much know what's available in MU, let me have a draft schema/dtd and I'll aim for that in the short term. Then we can refine it as we go along. BTW, why no announcement in the Yahoo group? Could liven it up a little

I'm currently working on the output that is returned when you submit an action. The snapshot should be similar in that you return the status for a Lord (multiple times) as well as the status of garrisons. BTW, why no announcement in the Yahoo group? Could liven it up a little I'll hold off announcing there until I have the web service test bed up and running.

Any movement on this project David? Slowly, slowly. The only work I have managed to find time to do this week has been a little on the output XML schema and some additional tables in the DB for the character standing orders and task stack. Hopefully I will have the complete XML schemas ready in a week or so. Also need a find a new web host.
