Yes, Rogerio is right, he too doesn't have a colony at the moment. Sad thing is, I had primed a wonderful colony belonging to Colmfinito's real estate in ocean 3, called Delphi, but after some failed attempts, we never got round to the "guided transfer" because I lost access to the account. And now it's just sitting there, in a dead account, under VI's wings. Bah!

But Shendemiar doesn't have a colony either and never had one, but I think he doesn't want it because of time limitations or something, and right now Frei is without colony too. There are more Morkins, Highlander I believe and now recent Perun, although I have my doubts as to Igor's recent activity on Inselkampf. It all is a bit demoralising ofcourse. You work hard and get -say- 4 colonies and then slowly you start loosing them all but one and that one passes in your hands, other hands, your hands and once more other hands. And so you never really get anywhere with it, it's at most a matter of principle. I can understand how that eats at your enjoyment of a game like this... But enough of that.

I too don't think we'll get into a war or position where we can cash in on our current knowledge, because Ares is too strong for us. And with 850 LW's the main force of him is too strong for all but 3 of Morkin (my estimation). and those 3 will be left decimated in the aftermath, so no, that is not a desirable idea. We are however counting on him making the same kind of calculations. We want -in everything that we do or think of- give others in IK the idea that we are in a better shape than we actually are in. We depend on bluffing and superior rhetorics, if I may put it like that. We want to be left alone and build our stuff for several months. Unfortunately to most that is boring business but in order to have another "party" we need to have stuff and preferrably more than before. No mean feat if we are to pull that one off.

In Inselkampf minimal losses means superior firepower, no suicide attack can escape that kind of logic. I recently attacked 1700 SF+Wall 20+some LW's with 1000 LWs. 40 cats and an odd assortment of 5000 men. I lost 137 LWs and 5 cats and several hundreds of men for wiping out all defenders. However this voctory has set me back in time several weeks I feel. And in the meantime some of our potential enemies who have not been in a fight like that will continue their buildup and inevitably end up having a numerical & temporal advantage over me. I hate that, but it's the reality of this game. You really want to abide your time and not get into a fight that may leave you vulnerable to tertiary attack or diminish your power to wage war on others sooner or later. Okay, lecture time over. ;D

Actually, Shendemiar manage to snatch one of Matt's colonies in ocean 1 during the Solstice War. It was lost again in the end of the war, but technically Robert has had one, albeit very briefly.

I´ve stoped hoping for a colony. I now manage my resourses on a weekly basis, building up LWS, men and cats.
I leave a little extra resourses that in time will let me upgrade my store.
Objective: have enough store capacity to manage my account on a mounthly basis

Done a simple spreadsheat to calculate the best way to spend resourses...

Assuming no-one attacks us for a couple of months, I want to get a Strike Fleet of about 400LWs with maybe 30 or 40 cats, with a strike army of 1000 each of spears and archers on the ships, with another 2000 spears on home defence.

Then I'll start building 5000 stonies and a colo ship.

And in the next war I'll take a colony from our enemies.....
