As it is, Wilhelmus, you have struck bullseye in that I seem to have been made to play under these conditions. The newbie incident (TM) was just the reductio ad absurdum proof ;D What was that about an initial onslaught?

Group move indeed! ;D I'll see how hard it is to do...Group move is usually only complicated by moving at the rate of the slowest member. This is usually the problem with "follow" but as you are at UI when you want to make the move it only becomes a case of checking that all the members of the group can move and then completly bailing if not...

It remains to be seen whether the new system has made the tactical challenge tougher, or whether it has gone too far and rendered tactics inapplicable. The former would be a good thing, the latter a very bad thing, but it's too early to tell.

My experience so far is that Blood of Courages are rather hard to find, so you have to trust you luck in the initial recruitment to get some good lords, as you can't improve them much anyway.
The old way allowed us all to level that partucular field in a drawn out game, and put or tactical abilities to the test rather than our luck.
I'm not outright negative about the change, but I am sceptic. Time may prove this sceptiscm wrong, though.

Take a look at the thread where I set the likelihood of each special item appearing. I'm happy to change the settings if they are too hard.
Wolves may soon have a role to play in all of this of course...

One thing, I think that citadels are too strong for the current settings of courage and courage-related damage. They're almost impossible to take out if well-manned.

I've reduced them for the next release, along with the bonus that dwarves and giants get

hey i think the dwarf thing is not due to the strenght bonus but rather to courage gaps...
i humbly suspect that 10% - 12.5% would be great...

Did any of you get the feeling that, when attacking a lord that stands at a neutral citadel, he receives its combat bonus?

You should have inflicted more casualties on Morgallis, yes, but so should he have done the same to your two lords...
